Amanda Holden's mum reacts to her first-ever tattoo in hilarious phone call after she left her husband Chris Hughes totally unimpressed

Amanda Holden 's mum reacted to the news her daughter had her first-ever tattoo during a hilarious phone call on Thursday.

The presenter, 50, had three hearts inked onto her wrist during a girls night out in Los Angeles last week and l eft her husband Chris Hughes totally unimpressed.

And it seems that her mother Judith Harrison had the same opinion, joking that Amanda must have 'been three sheets to the wind' when she walked in to the tattoo shop.

Speaking on the Heart Breakfast show, the TV personality and Jason King called her mum to tell her the news after she ignored a WhatsApp photo of her tattoo.

Amanda explained: 'So, I sent her a picture and my mum's response, "I don't want gels or maybe I will though because my nails are ruined anyway, so I might as well get gels."'

She added: 'She has clearly not seen the two little hearts that are on my wrist and on Jane's wrist.'

On the phone, Judith replied: 'I did see a couple of little hearts on your wrist. Was that a real tattoo? You're not having real tattoos, are you?'

Jason asked: 'What do you think of the fact that your daughter has had her very first tattoo on a wild trip to America?'

'Well, she must have had too many gins that's all I can say,' she replied.

'She wouldn't have had that done. I know she doesn't like tattoos.

'And I think she must have done that on a real whim when she'd been three sheets to the wind or whatever they say.'

'One more question. She's thinking about a piercing as well, what do you think?' Jason question.

Amanda's mum exclaimed: 'Absolutely not.'

Earlier this week, Amanda joked that she new exactly what her husband of 16 years would say about the body art despite the sweet meaning behind it.

The Britain's Got Talent judge showed off two small hearts inked close together on her wrist and revealed they 'symbolize my two children' Holly and Lexi.

Speaking on her Heart Breakfast radio show Amanda revealed she already knows where she wants a second tattoo.

She said: 'So I got home from LA, no one noticed in my family, apart from my child, who was with me, who just couldn't get over it.

'I dropped so many hints and my husband just didn't notice. Anyway, Holly was losing her mind because she was obviously present for the tattoo moment, which didn't hurt and took less than 30 seconds.

'In the end, we told Chris, and he had all three reactions that I said he would.

'First, he said it looks fake. Second, he said it looks naff. And third, he said, "Oh, what's going to happen next? Where else are you going to get one? What else are you going to do? And now the children are going to want one,'" is what he said.'

'It's two little hearts next to each other to symbolize my two children. But I'm going to do another little one at the bottom.'

Explaining her spur of the moment decision to get the inking, Amanda said: 'I was in Los Angeles with my daughter Holly last week for half term to see my best friend, who's lived out there for 20 years and I also caught up with other friends that now live out there.

'I was having a cup of tea with my friend Sarah, and she was squashing a tea bag in her cup when I noticed [she had a tattoo] and I decided, I am going to do that'.

She continued: 'Anyway, I go for dinner with friends and we were there with Holly, Freya and Jack, the children. And I said to Jane, look at what Sarah's done to herself. And Jane was like 'Oh my gosh this is fabulous' I said, 'let's do it.'

'She went, 'you're kidding' and I said, 'I've always been wholeheartedly against them.' And we got in the car, and we went and found a place.

'I can say that in this place, there was a bar and for some reason, a big pole in the middle of the room, but in the corner was the person we needed to see.

'We went over to this person, and he could fit us in, and we both did exactly the same thing. We both had a tattoo.'
