An anticipated change is in store with the arrival of fall

WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Another hot day in the books for Texoma, the day before the beginning of Fall. However, a change is in the air as a cold front edges closer to the area. In the meantime. The overnight low in tonight in Wichita Falls will be 75 degrees, with a high on Sunday of 89 degrees.

The overnight low tonight in Lawton, Okla., will be 73 degrees, with a high on Sunday of 84. The passing of a cold front by tomorrow afternoon will aid in cooling temperatures down as the afternoon arrives but likely not before reaching highs in the 80's across much of the area; though, Oklahoma counties in Texoma are likely to be a bit cooler as the cold front arrives there first.

With moisture in place and the cold front moving out of New Mexico and the Southern Rockies across the Southern Plains, rain chances increase, with the potential for strong, heavy rain, strong gusty and possibly damaging winds, and damaging hail.

Rain chances pop up again for Tuesday into Wednesday, with below-average temperatures expected through the coming week.
