Armed with more than 1,500 pounds of cheese, UW-Madison students feed the World Dairy Expo

The line extends out to the street for what UW-Madison students with the Collegiate Farm Bureau and the Badger Dairy Club are cooking up.

With more than 1,500 pounds of cheese — not counting approximately 100 pounds of specialty cheese featured as the flavor of the day — 1,000 loaves of bread and 700 pounds of butter, UW-Madison students have been painting melted butter on bread and slinging sandwiches onto the grill for four days at the World Dairy Expo at Alliant Energy Center in Madison. The grilled cheeses also are generating dough for their clubs, as students make it a fundraising opportunity.
