ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Wired Cafe, in downtown Rockford, said a suspect broke in and set fires inside the business.

General manager Joshua Patterson two fires were started inside the coffee shop, located at 414 E. State Street, early Sunday morning.

The Rockford Fire Department said tenants in the building were woken by an alarm at 6:49 a.m. and found smoke coming from the rear door.

Fire officials said the building's sprinkler system was activated and mitigated the spread of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and damages were estimated at $30,000. The fire department said the incident is still under investigation.

Patterson said Wired Cafe would be closed for several days as the business recovers.
