Atoka house fire leaves one injured

ATOKA, Okla. (KXII) - The Atoka and Tushka Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a house fire at the corner of West 13th and South Velma Street on Saturday, September 28.

The Atoka Assistant Fire Chief John Mullins tells News 12 the house sustained severe fire and smoke damage and that a few rooms have minor smoke and water damage.

Mullins says the house is "unlivable" and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

One resident of the home was transported to the Atoka County Medical Center for smoke inhalation by Atoka County EMS. The Atoka Police Department and Atoka County Sheriff's department responded to the scene.
