ATV accident in Vienna sends teenager to hospital
VIENNA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Syracuse teenager was taken to the hospital over the weekend after an ATV accident in the town of Vienna.
Oneida County Sheriffs responded to the accident on the C4C state trail between Hall and Widrig Roads at approximately 11:54 am on Saturday, November 2. Further investigation found that the victim — a 13-year-old juvenile from North Syracuse — was traveling eastbound on the C4C state trail.
Police say the juvenile lost control of the ATV and left the trail. The ATV then struck a tree, ejecting the teenager from it. The juvenile sustained a leg injury and was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Oneida County Sheriffs say that his injuries are non-life threatening.
Officers also say that the juvenile was wearing a helmet while operating the ATV.
Oneida County Sheriffs were assisted on the scene by the New York State Police, the Village of Cleveland Fire Department, and Vineall Ambulance of Oneida.
