The Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York will host its HOWLoween fundraiser at a new location, Owen Orchards in Sennett, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

The event will feature the Fast and Fusion food truck, children's activity stations with Auburn Community Cats TNR and a silent raffle with local prizes. There will also be a pet costume contest at 1 p.m., with registration costing a $10 donation and due by 12:30 p.m. A fall photo station will be available as well, with three digital photos by a professional photographer costing a $10 donation.

Owen Orchards, 8174 Grant Ave., Sennett, will be open for apple and pumpkin picking, and will have its apple cider doughnuts. Admission is free and open to the public, and pets are welcome.

"We're so excited to be partnering with Owen Orchards this year. Not only is their orchard lovely and the cider doughnuts heavenly, but the opportunity to offer a pet-friendly event that's all things fall is fantastic," said Anastasia Zygarowicz, president of the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY board of directors, in a news release.

Proceeds from the event will support renovations to the spay and neuter surgery room at the Auburn shelter, Zygarowicz said, and community programs.

The shelter does not receive government assistance, it said in the news release, and therefore relies on donations and events like HOWLoween to fund operations and renovations.
