‘The Masked Singer U.K.’ Renewed for Two More Seasons, Adds Digital Companion Show – Global Bulletin

'MASKED' MANIABandicoot Scotland, an joint venture, has secured a two-series recommission from U.K. broadcaster for " The Masked Singer U.K." The renewal includes a sixth season currently in production and a seventh 8 x 90′ series. In addition, Bandicoot is set to produce "The After Mask," a new 8 x 30′ digital companion series for 2025. Hosted by Harriet Rose, the show will be available across on-demand, social, and digital channels including .

"The After Mask" will feature interactions with the celebrity panel, host Joel Dommett, and unmasking interviews with contestants. Rose will also provide behind-the-scenes insights into the show's production.

"The Masked Singer U.K." is produced by Bandicoot Scotland, with Derek McLean, Daniel Nettleton, and Claire Horton serving as executive producers. "The After Mask" is executive produced by Nick Johns, Derek McLean, and Daniel Nettleton, in conjunction with Strong Watch Studios.

FRESH FACESBritish Independent Film Awards (BIFA) has announced its longlist for the -sponsored Breakthrough Performance category. The roster features 12 emerging talents who have made notable appearances in this year's standout British features.

Among the longlisted performers are Nykiya Adams and Jason Buda from "Bird," Susan Chardy for "On Becoming a Guinea Fowl," and Joe Gill for his work in "Treading Water." Bilal Hasna is recognized for "Layla," while Deba Hekmat makes the cut for "Last Swim." Saura Lightfoot Leon earns a spot for "Hoard," and Ruaridh Mollica gets a nod for "Sebastian." The Irish-language film "Kneecap" sees three of its stars longlisted: JJ Ó Dochartaigh, Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, and Naoise Ó Cairealláin. Rounding out the list is Jason Patel for his performance in "Unicorns."

BIFA continues its partnership with We Are Bridge for the Breakthrough Performer program, offering career development support to the longlisted talent over a six-month period. The program, now in its second year, covers various aspects of the industry including career development, wellbeing, and financial literacy.

The final five nominees will be revealed on Nov. 5, with winners to be announced at the BIFA ceremony on Dec. 8 at Camden's Roundhouse. This marks BIFA's 27th edition.

Indian film producer Ankur Garg has been awarded Spain's "la Cruz de la Orden del Mérito Civil" (Order of Civil Merit) for his work on Bollywood rom-com "Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar." The honor recognizes Garg's efforts in cultural exchange, particularly for showcasing Spanish locales like Barcelona and Mallorca in the Ranbir Kapoor Shraddha Kapoor starrer.

Spanish Ambassador to India, Juan Antonio March Pujol, presented the award to Garg during Spain's National Day celebrations. Pujol noted the film's role in bringing Spain "closer to the Indian public."

Garg, co-founder of Luv Films, expressed gratitude for the recognition and his commitment to fostering Indo-Spanish cultural dialogue. The producer collaborated with director Luv Ranjan on the project, which navigated COVID-19 challenges during its Spanish shoot.
