The second annual Italian American Heritage Celebration took place on Saturday at HarborMarket in Downtown Kenosha.

The event highlighted the influences Italian families, traditions and businesses have brought to Kenosha.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Kenosha's rich Italian roots," said Lynda Ruffolo of the HarborMarket Board of Directors, coordinator of this special event. "We want to acknowledge and honor Kenosha's Italian American families and businesses, as well as the many contributions Italian Americans have made to Kenosha.

The event boasted food demonstrations, educational displays made by St. Joseph's Honor Society students, traditional Italian dancers, and raffles. In addition to food and entertainment, St. Joseph's Italian Honor Society students, under the direction of Monica Valent and Ruffolo, offered a display showcasing some of Kenosha's Italian American businesses past and present.
