Avoid Downtown Cleveland traffic for Guardians' ALCS Game 3

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - If you're heading downtown to watch Guardians game, here's what you need to know before you hit the road!

The Cleveland Guardians encourage fans to get to Progressive Field early in the Postseason since parking will be limited.

The ALCS Game 3 starts at 5:08 p.m., but all gates will open 2.5 hours before first pitch.

Public Transit & Shared Mobility Greater Cleveland RTA rail and bus service connects across Cleveland, allowing you to skip the traffic and parking fees to get near the ballpark.

If you are new to the GCRTA, the city shared these tips for a smooth ride:

Visit the Park-N-Ride page to find the nearest parking lot + rail station to you.

Download the Transit App and select GCRTA to plan your trip from any starting point, pay your fare, and see real-time arrival information.

Select RTA when purchasing fares via EZfare in the Transit app.

Ride the train to the Tower City Station and use the Walkway to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to get outside Progressive Field

The Walkway will open four hours before ALCS Game 3.

Scooter & Bike Safety Rent a bike or scooter from Bird or Lime to zip around downtown, but remember these safety tips:

Ride in the road, not on the sidewalks.

Ride predictably.

Don't swerve in and out of traffic.

Wear a helmet.

If it is your first time riding a scooter, find a safe spot away from cars and other hazards to practice before beginning your trip.

Drivers should keep an extra eye out for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Drive slowly and carefully, especially in congested areas.

Be aware of scooter no-ride zones and preferred parking areas around large event centers like Progressive Field.
