Back-To-Back Storms In MD Forecast: See Latest
MARYLAND — As November comes to an end, so do the cold temperatures. In Maryland, temperatures will warm up over the next couple of days, but eyes will turn to the skies as there is also the possibility of two storm systems rolling in, according to forecasters.
For Thursday, Maryland will return to milder weather with sunny skies, temperature highs around the low 50s, and lighter winds compared to the past few cold days, according to the U.S. National Weather Service.
Friday is when the first of two storms coming from the south will funnel moisture into the area, creating problems for travelers in the form of rain and fog, AccuWeather meteorologists said.
"Despite the expected rain showers , we're still looking at relatively mild weather on Friday with highs in the lower 50s," WJZ News reported Thursday. "Friday evening looks damp for any travel plans or outdoor activities."
During the day Friday, temperatures will remain mild. There's a strong chance of rain after 1 p.m. Rain is expected to continue throughout the night before tapering off around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
"The storm will bring rain to areas from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia, New York City and Boston, mainly from Friday afternoon to early Friday night," AccuWeather said. "However, there also will be the potential for patchy fog soon after the rain begins that may linger into Saturday morning."
While the first storm will bring rain across Maryland from Friday afternoon into Friday night, Saturday is expected to be dry.
A second storm is possible on Sunday.
"Much of the Northeast will get a break of dry weather on Saturday, ahead of a second storm from the Southern states that is likely to spread rain along the Interstate 95 corridor and parts of the Appalachians from Sunday to Sunday night," AccuWeather said.
The exact track of the storm will determine exactly how much rain Maryland will get on Sunday. "Right now we have at least the chance of some showers on Sunday," WJZ said.
On Monday, brisk winds from the northwest will mark the return of cooler air , according to the Capital Weather Gang. Sprinkles may linger Monday morning, with clearing later in the day. Highs still reach the low-to-mid 50s.
