Barred owl rescued in Stafford County

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said a barred owl was rescued and released Friday night.

On Nov. 1, at around 8:15 p.m., SCSO said deputies responded to the Mine Road area after receiving reports of an injured owl.

Several drivers had stopped to protect the injured owl and "one brave motorist" put the owl into her car.

When deputies arrived, they loaded the owl into their cruiser and took the owl to the animal shelter.

There, SCSO said the owl shook off some cobwebs and was released back into the wild.
