Bay City Department of Public Safety responds to a structure fire

BAY CITY, Mich. (WNEM) - The Bay City Department of Public Safety announced that on Monday, Nov. 4, around 4:45 p.m., they responded to a structure fire at the 1400 block of McCormick St. Crews found a two-story home with smoke and flames coming from the basement. The Bay City Department of Public Safety reported that Crews entered the structure and made an interior attack on the basement and first floor. The fire extended into the second story and attic. The fire was extinguished, and an overhaul was done throughout the structure. The Bay City Department of Public Safety also stated that mutual aid was received by Bangor Township and Portsmouth Township Fire Department. There were no reported injuries. Two animals perished in the fire. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal's office.
