A team from BBC Devon has completed a 25 mile (40km) swimming challenge in aid of Children in Need.

Teams from every BBC local radio station are swimming a total of 1,000 miles (1,609km) to raise money for the charity, which helps improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Devon's team of five, Caroline Densley, James Vickery, Charlotte Cory, Lucy Bolt and Caroline Adams began their swim on 4 November.

The five completed their lengths at the Sidwell's Point Leisure Centre in Exeter at about 12:45 GMT.

BBC Radio Devon presenter Caroline Densley, who hosted the station's morning show poolside, said she "felt a bit emotional" on completing the challenge.

"It's made me re-find my love for swimming," she said.

"I think it's the most incredible thing I've ever done, it's just wonderful.

She added: "Thank you to everybody who has donated and all the lovely messages we've had."
