Bloomfield holds resource fair for military families

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The town of Bloomfield held a resource fair on Thursday for active duty or retired military members, veterans and gold star families.

The event had several booths to talk to professionals and get more information about services in the state being offered to them to enhance their quality of life.

"Freedom is not free. as the result of someone's sacrifice we can enjoy the American way of life," Alvin D. Schwapp jr., a retired member of the U.S. Army, said. "So we have a debt to veterans so we say thank you and this is how we do it. By providing necessary services to enhance their lives."
