Bloomfield police investigate racist text messages sent to students

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Bloomfield police are investigating after several racist text messages were sent to students and members of the Bloomfield community.
Town and school officials released a joint statement saying they are investigating the incident and condemn all forms of racism, prejudice, and hate.
"Racist language, behavior, and rhetoric have no place in Bloomfield, and we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community feels safe, valued, and respected," the statement read.
The Bloomfield Police Department is working with local, state, and federal authorities to investigate the incident.
