Body found following fire at Kentwood storage facility
KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A body has been found following a fire Thursday evening at a storage facility in Kentwood, the Kentwood fire chief said.
Around 10:45 p.m., fire crews with the Kentwood and Cascade fire departments were sent to a storage facility in the area of Broadmoor Avenue SE and E Paris Avenue SE for a fire.
Responding fire crews found smoke coming from several units within one building. They quickly worked to extinguish the flames.
According to the Kentwood Fire Chief, a body was found. The name of the person has not been released. The Kentwood Police Department is investigating this as a suspicious death.
Several storage units were damaged by the smoke and fire, the fire department said.
It's unclear what caused the fire.
