Boil water notice in effect for some Navarre Beach residents — what to know
NAVARRE BEACH, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Navarre Beach Utilities customers' service has been restored after two valves were replaced. Now, according to a Santa Rosa County news release, some residents are under a boil water notice.
Those residents live in these areas:
Viewpoint – 8227 Gulf Blvd.
Emerald Surf – 8245 Gulf Blvd.
Belle Mer – 8269 Gulf Blvd.
Navarre Towers – 8271 Gulf Blvd.
On Navarre Beach Real Estate – 8228 Gulf Blvd.
Navarre Beach Fire Rescue – 1413 Utility Drive
County Offices – 1411 and 1489 Utility Drive
According to the news release, the two valves in the distribution system at 8271 Gulf Blvd. in Navarre Beach were replaced.
The boil water notice is being used as a precaution.
"It is advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes be boiled," read the release. "A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used."
The notice will remain in place until the utility company completes a bacteriological survey to ensure the water is safe.
