Panel to discuss local water quality

A panel of local and state officials will be talking about recent economic developments in Howard County and how it might affect the county's water supply.

The free, public forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Creative Financial Centre, 2704 S. Goyer Road.

The forum will discuss Kokomo's recently announced housing developments, the two StarPlus Energy electric vehicle battery plants and their possible affect on the quality of water in Kokomo and Howard County.

The panelists include:

* Mark Basch, head of water rights and use section at the state of Indiana

* Brook Milburn, environmental health director at Howard County Health Department

* Brian Daggy, soil and water conservation for Boone County

* Sherry Roe, author of "Profits over People"

* Rob Merchant, certified drinking and wastewater operator

* Joe Russeau, owner of Precision Analytical

Scott Aaron, water training and lead service line inventory specialist of the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water

* Ann Ihms, owner of Criterion Water Labs LLC
