The student was arrested Thursday night and charged with making written threats to kill, a second-degree felony. He was booked into the Juvenile Booking Facility.

While the sheriff's office has identified the teen, it's Patch policy not to name minors charged with a crime unless they've been charged as an adult. It's not known whether he was charged as a juvenile or an adult.

The sheriff's office learned about the threat, which was posted to an instant messaging app, through multiple FortifyFL tips.

"Hey y'all Dmj y'all better be ready tomorrow imma be there to shoot up that school," the teen wrote in the message, according to MCSO.

The teen later confessed to detectives that he made the threat "because he was tired of being bullied," the sheriff's office said.

Deputies searched his home, where no firearms were found.
