15-year-old accused of shooting man at Chili’s in Brownwood

BROWN COUNTY, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – A 15-year-old suspect is accused of shooting at man at Chili's in Brownwood Thursday night.

Alvaro Garcia, 35, is hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg following the incident at Chili's on E Commerce.

Police say Garcia was at the restaurant when the 15-year-old arrived and began arguing with one of his family members – an altercation that escalated when all parties involved left and went to the parking lot.

"As the groups merged in the rear parking lot, Garcia and the juvenile argued and threatened each other, which led to the juvenile pulling a pistol from his waist area and firing several shots at Garcia," the press release explains.

The juvenile fled the scene of the shooting but was later located at on the 1300 block of S 13th Street. He is facing charges for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Garcia has been air-lifted to the hospital in Abilene. His current condition is not known at this time.
