For the first time in his brief career, Las Vegas Raiders (2-2) rookie tight end Brock Bowers has found the end zone.

On the Raiders' first offensive drive of Sunday's Week 5 road contest against the Denver Broncos (2-2), Bowers went up to secure a pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew , taking it to the house for a 57-yard score .

It was only a matter of time for Bowers, one of the league's most impressive rookies through the first four weeks of the season. The first round pick out of entered Sunday's game second among tight ends with 20 receptions for 216 yards.

With star wideout Davante Adams sidelined for a second consecutive week with a hamstring injury and fresh off submitting a trade request from the organization, Bowers has a real opportunity to be the No. 1 option in the passing game moving forward.

Brock Bowers off to dominant start to NFL career

That appears to have started in Denver, with Bowers already making his presence felt. With the 57-yard touchdown, Bowers passed Raymond Chester (265) for the most receiving yards by a Raiders tight end through their first five career games.

"We knew we was getting a blue chipper," head coach Antonio Pierce said of Bowers last month. "It was just, he did it Day 1 at Georgia. When he walked on campus and did it each and every game, each and every year. And he got here, rookie minicamp and you're just, you know, don't have pads on. Ain't going to put pads until training camp.

"It was like, 'Alright.' Then we slowed him down a little bit, because he was pushing himself and to be honest with you, we knew what we got. Just didn't want to speak on it until he did it."
