Broncos at Saints Week 7 ‘Thursday Night Football’ pick, open thread

S.Wright21 min ago
The Denver Broncos hit the Big Easy to kick off NFL Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints for Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. At first glance, this isn't the most exciting game on the football calendar — it is, however, the first time rookie quarterbacks Bo Nix and Spencer Rattler face off, indirectly of course.

Perhaps the biggest drama tonight is the New Orleans homecoming for Broncos head coach Sean Payton who spent 16 seasons as the head man for the Saints. The two teams have gone in vastly different directions, where Denver has evened their record at 3-3, while the saints are now 2-4 and losers of four straight games.

The oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook side with the Denver Broncos as 2.5-point road favorites . Despite losing quarterback Derek Carr, the Saints are likely to put up a decent fight and have something to say about tonight's outcome.

So who should Buffalo Bills fans root for tonight? Typically, it's an easy pick to go with the NFC team over the AFC team, but there's a bit more to tonight's matchup than just that factor since the Bills don't play either of these teams in 2024.

Tonight we're Broncos fans, believe it or not. You don't have to like them, but it's best for the Bills if they win.

Here's what Rachel Auberger had to say about tonight's game in the Week 7 Bills Mafia rooting guide:

The Chiefs, however, play Denver twice and no one is every closer to beating a top seed than a divisional opponent. Should that happen, having that divisional opponent close in the standings is even more dangerous. Add to this the fact that Kansas City already beat the Saints, and a New Orleans loss lowers the Chiefs' SOV score. Add in an Indianapolis win (as discussed above) and the Broncos still won't move into a playoff position making their win inconsequential to Buffalo – who right now isn't playing for a wildcard spot anyway.

Momentum is huge in the NFL, and the Broncos have just a little bit more of it right now. I'm taking the Denver Broncos over the New Orleans Saints, 20-17

Here's your open thread for tonight's game. Be kind to your fellow Rumblers and in all things, Go Bills!
