Brother of suspect in Suzanne Simpson's disappearance speaks out on social media

SAN ANTONIO - The brother of Brad Simpson took to social media to voice his concern over his brother's actions following the disappearance of his wife.

Barton Simpson said Wednesday on Facebook that "until Brad chooses to cooperate, we will continue to cooperate for him, as we have from the very beginning of this heartbreaking ordeal."

Suzanne Simpson was last seen on Oct. 6 fighting with her husband at their home in Olmos Park.Simpson's husband Brad Simpson, 53, was arrested Oct. 9 traveling along Interstate 10 in Kendall County. He was arrested and charged with family violence offenses.

Brad Simpson is now facing federal firearm charges. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Tuesday published an affidavit that charged him with the unlawful Possession of a short-barreled rifle.

Barton Simpson continues to talk about his brother's actions since the disappearance, saying "this is not how he was raised, and this is not who we are. Our parents instilled in us the values of honoring and protecting others, and they are truly remarkable people."

The devastation this has caused to our family is overwhelming. Brad's refusal to cooperate is unacceptable," said Barton Simpson on Facebook. My sister and brother-in-law have stepped up to take care of the children, but the impact on our parents has been shattering. Our lives have been irreparably changed. We will not rest until we find Suzanne.

Authorities continue to search a Southeast Side landfill for Suzanne Simpson.
