Lake-Lehman Lady Knights’ coaching staff and high school team will host a basketball camp for girls from grades three-eight in the Lehman School District. The cost is $30 per player. Camp will be held at the Lake-Lehman High School gym on the following dates: Oct. 28 2-4 p.m., Oct. 29, 30 and Nov. 1 6-8 p.m. The registration deadline is Oct 20. Wilkes University will hold a Colonels Elite Baseball Prospect Program Nov. 18, Dec. 16, Feb. 23 and May 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Marts Center for students with graduating years from 2013-2016. Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will meet at today 7 p.m. at Cavanaugh’s Grille. The “Night at the Races” event will be discussed.
Crestwood Football Booster Club will meet on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza.
GAR Soccer Booster Club will meet Wednesday, Oct 17 at Mag’s Halftime Pub in Wilkes-Barre. Due to the parent/teacher conference and the inability to reschedule the meeting it will start at 8 p.m.
Mountaintop Area Street Hockey-Roller Hockey League will meet today in the conference room of the Wright Township municipal building at 7:30 p.m.
Nanticoke Youth Soccer will meet on Thursday, Oct 10 at 8 p.m. at Larry’s Pizza.
Dallas Mountaineer Aquatic Club will hold a free, two-week trial period ending Oct. 19. Kids from ages 6-14 can participate in DMAC. Swimmers between ages 6-10 (age as of Oct. 1) can swim from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Swimmers between ages 11-14 (age as of Oct. 1) can swim from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. You do not have to be a Dallas student or resident to become a member of DMAC. Registration will take place at the Dallas Middle School Natatorium. All returning swimmers will begin practice Oct 22. Each child must bring a swimsuit, goggles (if you have them) and a towel. Fusion Travel Softball Team is holding tryouts for a 14u to 16u pitcher for the 2013 season. Four months of indoor training will be made available, with six to eight tournaments on the season. For more information, call Mark at 902-5198.
Hanover Area Elementary will be holding wrestling signups Thursday at 6 p.m. and will be holding their first practice that day starting at 6 p.m. as well. Sign ups are for elementary students in grades K-6 and the cost is $45 per child ($20 per any additional children in family). Sign ups will be right outside the wrestling room.
Kingston Recreational Center Youth Indoor Soccer League is accepting registrations for age groups 4-6, 7-9 and 10-13 through Nov. 4. The cost is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Lackawanna Lightning Softball will host a 14U girls fastpitch softball tournament on October 26 & 27 in Dunmore, PA. Tournament will be a 4 game guarantee and will be open rosters. Stan Waleski Fall Basketball Camp is accepting registrations for boys and girls in grades 3 – b from Oct. 28 to Nov. 23. The first camp will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. The second camp will be Sunday, Nov. 4 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the final camp will be Friday, Nov. 23 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Dallas Soccer Booster Club invites all alumni soccer players for the Annual Alumni Game to be held Nov. 24 at Cleary Field in Dallas against the 2012 soccer team. The game starts at 11 AM. No RSVP needed. Refreshments will be served.
National Association of Letter Carriers will sponsor its Bowl-a-Thon for Muscular Dystrophy Sunday, Nov. 4, at Chacko’s Family Bowling Center from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $25 per adult and $15 for kids under 10. Teams will consist of five players and individual bowlers are welcome. Cash prizes will be given out to top-three teams and prizes for top male and female bowlers. South Wilkes-Barre Little League Fundraiser will be held Oct. 26 at Riverside Bar/Café located at 187 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre from 6 – 8 p.m.
South Wilkes-Barre Skyhawks will be having its first Coaches Game & Fun Day event for players and their families. The event is on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The event will be completely free for everyone attending and there will be games, prizes, face painting, and snacks provided by the Skyhawks program. The afternoon will be highlighted by a soccer match between approximately 20 of the league’s coaches. For the amusement of all involved, the losing team’s captain will receive a pie to the face.
