Buteco music festival Saturday could cause Rickenbacker delays for residents

Traffic congestion along the Rickenbacker Causeway might delay Key Biscayne residents' entrance and exit on Saturday evening.

Some 3,000 attendees are expected to gather at Miami Marine Stadium for Buteco do Gusttavo Lima , the performer's Farewell Miami concert.

That event occurs from 6 p.m. until midnight, and gates open at 3 p.m., so plan accordingly.

Buteco is a music festival created by artist Gusttavo Lima in 2018. It has been held in more than 23 major Brazilian cities and has a special edition in Boston. Over 40 artists have performed at the event, but Lima will perform at the "super closing show" with an acoustic performance on the second stage in a 360-degree format. At Belo Horizonte, Brazil, his concert attracted more than 75,000.

Concerts in Boston (Oct. 26) and Sao Paulo, Brazil (Dec. 14) close the tour.

Partners with the Key Biscayne Police Department have been accelerating their efforts this year to better plan for increased traffic and allow residents and visitors reasonable travel time past areas where special events are being staged.
