This week marked the opening of Cape Cod's first Aldi grocery store. Thursday was the official opening day and ribbon cutting ceremony for the store.
Those who decided to show up on Thursday, particularly those who showed up early, had access to a few perks.
The first 100 customers to the new store received a "golden ticket" that could be worth up to $100. Those 100 customers also received an Aldi "goodie bag." All customers at the store on Thursday were able to snag a free tote bag, too.
Aldi will also run a $500 gift card giveaway that stretches from Thursday through Nov. 17. Codes will be placed throughout the store for shoppers to scan and enter.
Company officials said Aldi will also donate $1,000 to Feeding America as part of the opening week celebration.
