The Baltimore food scene is busy this week, with tastings, special dinners, and lots of pre-Thanksgiving plans. Here's a look at what's coming up:
Openings & announcements
'Dashery,Hotel Revival, has a new expanded menu . The breakfast and lunch spot's menu lineup includes classic items like bagel and croissant sandwiches for breakfast and soups and wraps for lunch.
Thanksgiving Kraut at HEX
No Baltimore Thanksgiving table is complete with sauerkraut – and HEX Superette is ready to teach you how to make your own. On Saturday, HEX hosts two workshops , one in the morning and one in the afternoon, providing attendees with everything necessary to create and take home two 32-ounce jars of kraut that will be fermented and ready in time for Thanksgiving.
Chili at Waverly
Midday on Saturday, head to Waverly Brewing Co. for a chili cookoff . The cookoff marks the end of Waverly's 10 days of fun for 10 years of beer, celebrating a decade in business.
Ryleigh's Oysterfest
On Saturday and Sunday, Ryleigh's Oyster celebrates its 18th annual Oysterfest . The party features all sorts of oysters – both grilled and on the half shell – along with a crush bar, barbecue, live music and more.
Le Comptoir du Vin x Sophomore Coffee & Ali Dryer
On Sunday, Le Comptoir hosts a special brunch with Sophomore Coffee, Ali Dryer and cocktails by Anna Crooks. The menu includes everything from boozy challah pudding to Ostrowski's kielbasa. The event is first-come, first-serve and starts at 11 a.m.
Maryland Farm & Harvest
On Tuesday, the newest episode of MPT's Maryland Farm & Harvest debuts at 7 p.m. The episode will share stories from an interesting mix of people within the local food community: the Smithson family of Pond View Farm, Dr. Yonathan Zohar of the indoor salmon fishery at , and Ekiben's Chef Steve Chu.
Old Westminster x Hersh's
On Wednesday, Old Westminster Winery is teaming up with Hersh's for its f irst ever Nouveau release . The winery has made a Nouveau, similar to the Gamay-based wine produced in Beaujolais, France, and will celebrate the debut of the young wine with a fun party featuring heavy appetizers from the Hersh's kitchen.
Costiera Truffle Dinner
Thursday evening, is throwing its "first annual" truffle dinner . The meal features five truffly courses, paired with wines from importers Cantine PoveroWide Roots
Bardstown Bourbon Experience at The Copper Shark
Also on Thursday, The Copper Shark hosts a bourbon tasting and three-course meal featuring drinks from Bardstown Bourbon Company
Thanksgiving plans
Thanksgiving is late this year but there's still time to make plans for dinner out or supplementing your dinner at home with restaurant takeaway.
Silver Queen Café's Thanksgiving carryout lineup includes braised greens, peanut butter pie, chicken liver paté and crab dip (made with local crabs).
The Ivy Hotelwill be open for Thanksgiving dinner, offering entrees like a half-chicken, salmon or filet mignon.
Cindy Lou's Fish House is serving a prix fixe meal on Thanksgiving, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Options include the classic turkey with trimmings, salmon Oscar, or brown butter gnocchi with root vegetables and two-hour egg.
The Tilted Row has tons of take-home options for Thanksgiving, conveniently packaged in servings for one, two or four.
Liberatore's takeaway Thanksgiving dishes include a classic meal for four with optional Italian add-ons, like a half-tray of penne marinara.
