Carl F. Fercana, Sr., Warren, Ohio
WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Carl F. Fercana, Sr., 99, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren.
Carl was born April 7, 1925, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of James & Lena (Giordan) Fercana.

He was a 1944 graduate of Youngstown East High School .
Carl met the love of his life Barbara A. Day whom he married October 26, 1957, and spent 45 years together before she passed September 25, 2001.
He previously worked for the Malone Day Heating and Plumbing Company in Warren for 31 years as Heating Manager, he also had worked at Republic Steel, Stambaugh Thompson on Elm Rd., and retired from the Howland Giant Eagle.
He was a member of AARP, American Legions Post 700, American Legions 888 Columbus, Ohio, had previously been a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament. He had previously been a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish (St. James Church) in Warren. He enjoyed woodworking and especially planting his garden and taking care of it till this past summer at 99 years old.
Carl served our Country in the U.S. Army from November 4, 1944, to August 9, 1946, he received the following medals Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Army Occupation Medal, and the Germany Good Conduct Medal.
He will be sadly missed by his children Bill Fercana of Howland, Rita Fercana of Boardman, and Carl F. (Susan) Fercana Jr. of Howland, two grandchildren Carl F. Fercana III, Courtnie Clark of Niles, and Curtis (Krislyn) Fercana of Mineral Ridge, and a great grandchild that is due in the spring of 2025. He also leaves his miniature collie Princess and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara A. Fercana, brothers Anthony and Benny Fercana, and a sister Ann Morrison.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Carl Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., There will be a prayer service held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483
A funeral service will be Monday, October 21, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Blessed Sacrament Church 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Carl's name to the American Legion Post 700 8273 High St. NE, Warren, Ohio 44484 or to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish 3020 Reeves Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bisel, Dr. Black, Dr. Caicco the staff at Independent Medical Associates, all the nurses & staff on the Third & Six floor at St. Joseph Hospital & the Howland Fire Department for all the care and compassion they gave to Carl & the family.
