PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Portland mayoral hopeful Carmen Rubio has lost her second endorsement following a reported incident involving a Tesla days after reporting emerged on her driving record.

Rubio, who is currently a Portland City Commissioner, has accrued 150 parking and driving tickets since 1994, with the most recent being a municipal parking ticket for blocking a loading zone in July 2024, court records show.

The Oregonian/OregonLive first reported Rubio's driving record earlier this month, and on Tuesday, the newspaper reported it had learned of an instance involving Rubio and a parked Tesla in Clackamas County days after the first story had broken.

LiUNA Local 737 , a union representing thousands of construction contractors in Oregon, decided it was no longer endorsing Rubio after the first report emerged, a LiUNA spokesperson confirmed to KOIN 6 News in a phone call. The union's rescinded endorsement was first reported by Willamette Week.

On Thursday, The Street Trust Action Fund said it was also withdrawing its endorsement of Rubio for Mayor. The rescinded endorsement was first reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive .

"In light of allegations that last week Rubio damaged a parked car and walked away, we are withholding further support of her campaign until we see real change," the political arm of The Street Trust said in a statement on Instagram . "This is done with heavy hearts because we still believe her positions are the best in the race, but her driving has become a distraction – one which flies in the face of our values."

Street Trust Action Fund said it would continue to focus on city council, regional and statewide candidates this election season.
