Casper man caught by drone after erratic driving, fleeing scene

A Casper man was arrested on Friday after concerned citizens called the Casper Police Department to report an erratic driver.

Cadin Monpas, 22, allegedly fled with his vehicle when asked to stop. At the time, officers did not pursue Monpas, according to Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Amber Freestone.

Monpas' vehicle was later found crashed into a parked car and police used a drone to locate Monpas. The drone, piloted by an unnamed officer, found Monpas in the 1700 block of Westbridge Drive.

Monpas was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, having an open container in the vehicle, eluding police, running a stop sign, reckless driving, leaving the scene, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
