Central Pa. Food Bank begins Miles for MilitaryShare walk for veterans and active-duty personnel
Selinsgrove, Pa. — Starting Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank will start its three-day walk to support veterans, military members, and their families and raise awareness about hunger in the region.
The fundraising portion of the event aims to raise $25,000 to support the MilitaryShare program. Online donations may be made on the Miles for MilitaryShare page . The page also includes detailed route maps.
The walk supports MilitaryShare, a Fresh Express program of the food bank, which offers nutritious food to veterans and active-duty military personnel across 31 distribution sites in 19 counties. From July 2023 to June 2024, the program provided 12,038 meals to individuals in Snyder, Union, Northumberland, and Columbia County.
More information about the program is outlined in the video below.
During Miles for MilitaryShare, the food bank will join friends from Hanna Radio and Bigfoot Country to walk 30 miles across Snyder, Northumberland, Union, Montour, Columbia, and Lycoming County while pushing a shopping cart.
