Chain reaction crash snarls traffic on Route 15 in Kelly Township

Kelly Township, Pa. — A crash involving a tractor trailer, pickup truck, and Rabbit Transit Van snarled traffic Monday afternoon on Route 15 and AJK Boulevard near the Sheetz.

According to PSP at Milton, the crash occurred around 2:10 p.m. when a tractor trailer from Arizona was traveling south on Route 15. The light at AJK Boulevard turned red, and an opposing green light allowed traffic to move onto Route 15 northbound when the tractor trailer, attempting to stop in time, rear ended a White GMC Sierra Pickup of New Columbia, Pa.

In a chain reaction, the GMC made contact with a Rabbit Transit Van, police said. The driver of the GMC was transported to Geisinger with suspected minor injuries.

The chain reaction crash could have been worse, but the tractor trailer was empty and the Rabbit Transit van had no passengers, police said.
