BEAMAN Charles Cordell, Age 75, Passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2024, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Chuck was born in Minneapolis on January 8, 1949. In 1966, Chuck joined the Navy and served two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Dale. While serving he was initiated into the Brotherhood of the Shellbacks, of which he was quite proud. During his three-year deployment, he exchanged letters with his high school sweetheart, Mary K Anderson, and asked for her to marry him. Mary flew to San Diego, CA to meet Chuck's ship when it came into port and they were married three days later with rings Chuck had purchased overseas. After returning to Minnesota Chuck and Mary had 3 children Kathy (Gabe Saunders), Bob (Jennifer Rioux) and Michelle. Chuck worked for 30 years at Boustead Electric in Golden Valley before taking an opportunity to teach at Dunwoody College to pass along his knowledge of electric motor repair. Over the years, Chuck was involved in many volunteer activities from coaching youth football in Minneapolis and Willow Lane in Brooklyn Center, to working with the Vietnam Veterans Association at the Palmer Lake VFW to help gain recognition for the vets and awareness for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. In 2001, Chuck was widowed when Mary passed away unexpectedly. In 2003 Chuck met Linda Jones and her four children Jay, Jack (Lisa), Paula (Darrik) and Eric. They were married on October 30th, 2004 and continued to pursue their love of travel, motorcycling and spending time with their grandchildren, Joseph, Caleb, Leah, Megan, Ashley, Reilly, Finley and Hayes, along with their great-grandchildren, Sylas, Anja, and Leif. Chuck always admired how Linda would just jump on the back of the Harley and travel with him. Together they put on well over 200,000 miles riding the highways and byways of the country. Huge thank you to the Kasper and Iverson families for helping to keep Chuck on 2 wheels as long as possible. The doctors thought this positive mental activity helped him in his battle against cancer.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Fred Beaman, wife Mary, brothers Fred, Vernon, Gordon, and James, and his sister Jo. He is survived by his sister Jeannine, children, step-children grandchildren, great grandchildren, and second wife, Linda. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 29th, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Richfield Bloomington Eagles Club – 3208, 9152 Old Cedar Ave S., Bloomington, MN 55425.{/p/span} Honor with Flowers
