Chicas Locas hearing rescheduled to November; club remains closed

The battle between El Paso County and the owners of Club Chicas Locas will continue into November.

On Wednesday, a judge rescheduled a hearing in which the county requested the closure of the establishment for one year and for the owners to pay a bond for allegedly violating the settlement agreement between both parties.

The attorneys who represent Chicas Locas argued the defense was not provided with the evidence the county planned to use to prove the alleged violations.

The county argued they had provided the evidence minutes before Wednesday's hearing.

The judge ordered to reschedule the hearing until November 25, to give the defense time to review the evidence the county plans to use.

During the brief hearing on Wednesday, the county asked at the discretion of the judge for an order for Chicas Locas to remain closed, however, the judge did not order a Temporary Restraining Order.

Chicas Locas is closed on a separate order from the City of El Paso for alleged fire code violations.

Casey Wallace the attorney for Chicas Locas stated the alleged violations have been fixed and the owners are waiting for the city to lift their order.

If the city does lift the current order before November 25, the owners will be allowed to open the doors to the Bikini Bar.
