Chiefs-Buccaneers: The 7 biggest moments from the overtime 30-24 win

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 in overtime on "Monday Night Football."

Here are the highlights:

The hometown kid finds the end zone. On the 11th play of the Buccaneers' third drive, the play-call was a toss to a Kansas City native: Tampa Bay running back Rachaad White. The key to the play was White's slight hesitation before approaching the line of scrimmage, which got the Chiefs' defense off-balance enough that he could trot in for the go-ahead score.

The new guy provides the answer. Needing a response, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes dialed up the newest member of the offense: wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. On the first play, Mahomes squeezed through the pocket to find just enough of a window to get the ball off — and Hopkins brought it in amidst what looked like triple coverage. Hopkins leaked open at the goal line, and the wideout celebrated the touchdown by Remembering the Titans — his former club.

Cade Otton has a night in Kansas City. The Chiefs have had a problem defending the tight end position — and that continued on Monday night against Tampa Bay tight end Cade Otton. Here, safety Justin Reid attempts to jump the play, giving Otton a step for the easy score.

A game-tying score...and a scare. The Bucs' score required a response from the Chiefs, who worked their way down the field. Then, flushed out to the right, Mahomes flipped the ball to running back Samaje Perine, who was waiting to corral the touchdown. Following the play, the quarterback scared the thousands in attendance when he stayed on the ground. But he took a quick trip to the medical tent — and was back for the next drive.

Hopkins gets No. 2 on the night. Late in the game on third-and-goal — when Hopkins is drawing one defender — would be the perfect time to call a back-shoulder fade. So of course, a slant gave him three yards of room to bring in the go-ahead score.

The Bucs stay alive with a late touchdown. The Chiefs defense looked to sell out for the run, but a wisely-timed play-action gave wide receiver Ryan Miller all the space he needed for a wide-open, game-tying touchdown.

And that's game. The final play of a 10-play, 70-yard overtime drive to make sure that the Buccaneers did not touch the football.
