Chef notes I filmed at a restaurant in Kansas City that is nothing short of legendary: Stroud's Chicken. Great home cooking, and everything from scratch — including raising and processing the chicken on-site. In addition to delicious chicken, the side dishes are stellar. And one of the most unexpected treats for me, was that the chicken was not served with warm rolls or biscuits but CINNAMON ROLLS! I've attempted an homage to this great restaurant, with a chicken sandwich served on the cinnamon bun with a savory inside and sweet exterior. And I top it all off with slaw inspired by the great barbecue places found in Kansas City. No need to make your own cinnamon buns from scratch; store-bought work great. It's a delicious treat to make for the Chiefs fan in your homes (or Mahomes?).

Technique tips: Compound butters are a great way to infuse a variety of flavors into a dish without adding a lot of extra stuff; the flavors in the butter can be sweet or savory and will permeate an entire dish. Also, don't just drop your tender in the oil; you need to coat it in the oil first.
