Sep. 23—This Tuesday, the Greenville City Council plans to consider employing the services of government software company GOGov to develop and app to further improve communication between the city, its residents and visitors.

If the city goes forward with implementing the app, proposed uses include general notifications to residents who opt in, calendar notifications about events, sending out links to agendas for meetings and sending out links to social media, videos, photos and other web content related to the city.

If the city council agrees to the project, a one-year contract with GOGov is quoted as costing $5,400 for both the building and the implementation of the app.
