City of York warning residents of parking violation scam

The city of York is warning residents of a scam that is circulating in the area.
Officials say a text message is going around telling locals that they owe the city for a parking violation.
The message reads:
Your vehicle has an unpaid parking invoice in Pennsylvania. To avoid a late fee of 35$, please settle your account promptly. Total amount due 4.15$. To view your invoice and make a payment, type the private link in your browser.The city is asking residents to not click the link, and instead call 717-849-2230 for any parking questions they may have.
If you receive a scam text, the city is also asking residents to contact city hall at717-849-2221.
