A news release from the city says it's part of its ongoing lead mitigation effort. A notification does not mean that there is lead present in the water supply. The notifications are part of an EPA mandate to identify and notify customers of any potential risk of lead exposure based on aging service lines produced before 1954.
The city is working on removing and replacing lead and galvanized service lines with EPA financing and will continue to identify service line materials for removal or replacement.
Customers can find more information on this effort on the city's website or by calling 330-742-9768.
