Downtown Danville Roads Closing For Construction Paving work will take place during the day to avoid cold night temperatures next week.

DANVILLE, CA — Crews will be repaving Hartz Avenue the week of Nov. 11 as part of the Downtown Master Plan Catalyst Project.

Due to forecasted cold weather in the early morning next week, paving will take place during daylight hours, rather than overnight like planned. The paving schedule for the upcoming week is as follows:

  • Monday: Overnight surface grinding of Hartz Avenue and side streets School, Church, Prospect, Diablo, and Linda Mesa. Work starts at 9 a.m.
  • Tuesday: Hartz Avenue will reopen to traffic by 7:30 a.m. Side streets will remain closed for paving during the day and reopen during the evening.
  • Wednesday: Hartz Avenue will close at 8:30 a.m. for daytime paving and is expected to reopen in the evening.
  • Thursday: All roads expected to reopen in the evening.
  • Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use Front Street and Railroad Avenue as alternative routes.
