Classic Bakery Sets Opening Date For 2nd MD Location: Report The second Montgomery County location of Classic Bakery has set a tentative opening date in early 2025, a report said.

OLNEY, MD — The second Montgomery County location of Classic Bakery will open in the first quarter of 2025 in Olney.

The business told The MOCO Show that its target date of opening of March 1 in a former Cold Stone location at 18105 Village Center Drive in Olney is subject to change.

Classic Bakery already has locations open at 9204 Gaither Road in Gaithersburg and 8605 Westwood Center Drive, Ste. 150, in Tysons, Virginia.

Hours for the Gaithersburg shop are: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Monday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The business is known for its wedding cakes, but responding to popular demand it also offers cafe sandwiches, imported coffee, homemade Italian gelato and a variety of baked goods.

Here's how the bakery describes itself:

The family business was introduced over half a century ago by Grandpa Souren as a small bakery producing fine Middle Eastern and Eastern European delicacies in Tehran, Iran. In 1947, Grandpa Souren discovered his passion for baking at the age of 17, and began thinking of ways to combine raw ingredients to create unique products that combine baking tradition from multicultural backgrounds including Persian, Armenian, French, Danish, Greek, and Arabic. Now run by grandson Areen Movsessian and his father Rubic, has a reputation as the area's leading baker of custom designed wedding cakes and novelty cakes, in addition to pastries, cookies, baked goods, and the like. The combination of father and son has bridged the gap of culturally inspired and deep rooted family recipes to a modern and competitive atmosphere. In December 2016, Classic Bakery went through a large re-brand and introduced its second location with the launch of Classic Bakery in Tyson's Corner, VA. Immediately, grandson Areen Movsessian and his father Rubic moved the original 3,000 square foot Gaithersburg location to a new and improved 10,000 square foot state of the art production facility in order to keep up with demand. The new facility would allow Classic Bakery to introduce a larger variety of baked goods and product consistency. Areen knew that in order to continue winning the hearts of local clients, he had to maintain the same hands-on approach Grandpa Souren and Rubic used when the Bakery was first introduced in 1991. With this approach, Grandpa Souren's recipes and high standards continue to be carried on by Areen and the entire Classic Bakery family.
