Cleburne issues boil water notice for about half of city

CLEBURNE, Texas — The city of Cleburne issued a boil water notice Monday, which applies to about half the city.

Cleburne issued a precautionary boil water notice after a leak caused a loss in water pressure, the city said in a press release. The notice applies to water customers in the southeast portion of the city, the release states.

Crews isolated the leak to the water tower near Lakeshore Drive. As of 8:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 they were working to repair the issue, the release states.

"As a precaution, the City is asking the affected water customers to boil tap water for consumption until the notice is lifted," the release states.

The city recommends bringing water for drinking, cooking and ice-making to a rolling boil for two minutes and cooling before consuming, the release states.
