Close to 1,000 Without Power in Coachella

An outage cut power to almost 1,000 Imperial Irrigation District customers in Coachella.
The utility alerted the public shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday that an outage was affecting the area. A car striking a pole temporarily denied power to 949 residents, according to a statement.
After an hour and 15 minutes, the IID published an update announcing that it had restored power to all but one of the residents.
Anyone who continued to have power issues was asked to call the utility at 800-303-7756.
The IID provides electricity to more than 150,000 customers in parts of Riverside and San Diego counties, as well as all of Imperial County.
