Colerain Township 0.1-mill tax hike earmarked for emergency services
When: Colerain Township Board of Supervisors meeting, Nov. 4.
What happened: The board adopted the preliminary 2025 general fund budget showing expected revenue of $1.4 million and expenditures of $1.09 million.
The cost: The tax rate will increase to 0.618 mills, a bump of 0.1 mills over the current rate of 0.518 mills. For 2024, the supervisors budgeted $41,500 for emergency services. That will increase to $72,000 in 2025. For the coming year, they have budgeted $50,000 for fire companies and $22,000 for ambulance companies.
New meeting room: The board awarded a contract to A K Petersheim Builders in the amount of $154,400 for the addition of a new meeting room to the township building. This was the lowest of five bids received ranging up to $286,320.
