COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — Collierville firefighters are coming together to help one former firefighter after learning he has cancer.

This started as a cornhole tournament but once everyone knew what they were raising money for, it became what you see today.

A whole community came together to raise more than $35,000 for a former public servant.

Taylor Paige has worked for the Collierville Fire Department for several years but recently learned he has leukemia, causing him and his wife to leave their job and take care of their two children.

Transgender Awareness Week capped off by annual festival

"We're here to support former Collierville firefighter, Taylor Paige," Cory Carter said. "And see if we can help raise some money for his situation – which he's got leukemia. And so he's battling that and we're battling for him."

There are bouncy houses, food trucks, live performances and many more things out there until 6 p.m.

All proceeds will go directly to Paige and his family to support them during this challenging time.
