Conneautville couple faces charges related to gun sales at Saegertown shop
A Conneautville husband and wife are both facing related charges after police say improper transactions by the husband deprived the Saegertown gun shop that employed him of nearly $4,500 over the course of about 15 months.
Adrian Christopher Peterman, 20, and Olivia Grace Peterman, 20, who reside in the 13700 block of Smith Road, were arraigned Saturday before Magisterial District Judge Adam Stallard.
In a four-page probable cause affidavit filed in the case, state police at Meadville outline repeated occasions between November 2022 and February 2024 in which Adrian Peterman allegedly altered, forged, destroyed and made false entries on forms and electronic records related to gun sales, gave unauthorized discounts and failed to make required payments related to multiple gun purchases both in person and online. The cumulative impact of the alleged acts and transactions deprived Myers Sportsman's Connection, 167 Main St., Saegertown, of $4,484.53, according to police.
In a separate affidavit, state police also allege that Olivia Peterman admitted to completing a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms form for the acquisition of a rifle by her husband in December 2023 that was ultimately provided to her husband's brother.
Adrian Peterman faces 12 felony charges and four misdemeanor charges. The felony charges consist of forgery, criminal use of a communication facility, unlawful use of computer access, conspiracy to make a false written statement in the purchase of a firearm, six counts of theft, and two counts of tampering with public records. The misdemeanor charges consist of tampering with records, securing execution of documents by deception, tampering with evidence and creating a false impression of a privately employed person.
Olivia Peterman faces a felony charge of making a false written statement in the sale or transfer of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of statement under penalty.
A preliminary hearing for both Petermans is scheduled for Dec. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver.
Adrian Peterman remains free on $200,000 unsecured bond. Olivia Peterman remains free on her own recognizance.
