Coroner identifies 85-year-old man killed in Westwood crash

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has identified an 85-year-old man who died in a crash in Westwood Friday.

Robert Czerwinski died at the scene of the crash on Boudinot and Queen City avenues , the coroner's office said.

Cincinnati police who are investigating the crash say they were called around 9:30 a.m. to the intersection.

Once police arrived, they discovered a 46-year-old man driving a 2016 Toyota Camry east on Queen City Avenue and a 17-year-old driving a 2018 Ford Focus north of Boudinot.

Police say the 17-year-old drove through a red light and hit the Toyota at the intersection, causing the Toyota to hit the Ahadu Market building on 3098 Queen City Avenue.

The 17-year-old and the driver of the Toyota driver were taken to UC Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers say the backseat passenger of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the Toyota driver was wearing a seatbelt, but it is unclear if the backseat passenger was, too.

Officers say no one in the Ford was wearing a seatbelt.
