Country newcomer Megan Moroney announced as 2025 Illinois State Fair performer
SPRINGFIELD — A rising country music star is trotting in cowgirl charm to the Illinois State Fair Grandstand in August 2025.
A news statement said Megan Moroney will perform Aug. 10, 2025, at the state fair, which recently announced Def Leppard as another performing artist for Aug. 16.
In the statement, Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II said the Illinois State Fair has a long tradition of featuring artists early in their careers, adding Georgia native Moroney "has a bright future in country music."
Moroney's second album, "Am I Okay?", came out in July, taking ninth place on the Billboard 200 chart. Her track "No Caller ID" broke a record for the best streaming female country song debut and followed the success of her triple-platinum No. 1 hit "Tennessee Orange."
The singer-songwriter is also nominated for three Country Music Awards: Female Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday at ticketmaster.com , starting at $47. A limited number of discounted tickets are available for higher tier seats.
The Illinois State Fair will run Aug. 7-17 in Springfield.
