Couple forced to decide who gets Taylor Swift tickets in their divorce settlement

A married couple has been negotiating who will get the tickets to Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour they bought before their split as part of their divorce settlement.

Swift, 34, kicked off the Canadian dates of her tour at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Thursday, but it seemed one former couple would no longer be attending.

Jane Cvijan, a senior legal counsel with M & Co. Law, revealed to CTV News that she recently had to help the estranged man and wife decide what to do with the concert tickets that they had bought about a year ago.

Referring to her clients, Cvijan explained: 'A couple who had purchased the tickets while they were still together and then figuring out how they're going to handle them now that the concert happens to be taking place after their separation.

'In this case, because of the very specific concert that we're dealing with, the actual market value was going to be so much more than what the couple actually purchased the individual tickets for.'

The case needed to be settled before Swift arrived in the city because some of her Toronto concert tickets are now worth thousands of dollars, with some being resold on StubHub for $13,000 each.

The law firm decided to present the couple with three options – they could still go to the concert together as planned or one person could buy the tickets off the other for the current market value.

The third option was that they could sell both tickets and just split the proceeds between them.

Cvijan was unable to confirm which option the former couple chose, due to lawyer-client privilege, but she said that the couple considered all three options, made a decision and were happy with the outcome.

Talking about divorces in general, she added: 'It can be as complicated as you wanna make it, it can be as difficult as you wanna make it, or it can be as easy as you wanna make it.'

Meanwhile, Taylor put on a leggy display when she took to the stage in Toronto on Thursday evening.

The Shake It Off hitmaker looked incredible in a silver, blue and gold leotard as she entertained her legions of Canadian fans.

Swift added height to her frame with a pair of knee-high gold and silver glittering boots and also wore a gold necklace.

Letting her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders, Taylor performed for the crowd on a baby blue guitar during the show.

Elsewhere during the show, she also donned a white strapless dress with an asymmetric hemline and matching ankle boots.

She also sported an orange and blue mini dress with a pleated detail along with a purple faux fur coat for another look.

During the concert, Swift broke her silence on her six Grammy Award nominations.

It was revealed last week that the singer had earned six nods for her 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) — including Album Of The Year — as well as for her duet with rising star Gracie Abrams.

The 13-time Grammy winner made history this time around as she is now the first female artist to be nominated for Album Of The Year a total of seven times.

Swift thanked the 50,000 fans at Rogers Centre for supporting TTPD since its release in April, admitting it is an 'emotional' album for her.

She also said she was in total disbelief to be up for six awards at the upcoming 2025 Grammys ceremony in LA — tying Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan in nominations.

'You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months. I just mean what you did with embracing The Tortured Poets Department, the album,' Swift began.

'It's truly blown my mind because its really emotional for me that this album, I wrote it during the Eras Tour. And you guys have been so wonderful about getting into this album and really understanding where I was coming from with it and you made it by far, the biggest debut week I've ever had of an album.'
